Welcome to The Scout! To make your stay as smooth and enjoyable as possible, we’ve outlined some frequently asked questions below.

GENERAL QUESTIONS


How do I access my cottage?

Your door code will be sent via email before your stay. This code is valid for the duration of your visit. If you have any issues, please call us, and we’ll assist you immediately

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in begins at 4 PM, and check-out is at 11 AM. Need a little extra time? Reach out, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule.

What if I need help or have a question?

While we don’t have fixed office hours, we’re typically on-site from 9 AM to 5 PM. You can reach us at 541-527-0815 anytime for questions or services like room refreshes, bicycle rentals, fire pit access, and more.

What if the office is closed when I arrive?

No problem! You can self-check-in using the email we sent or scan the QR code provided in your room.

Why was I moved to different cottage?

In rare cases, we may need to move guests to another cottage to accommodate longer stays or multi-night bookings. We’ll do our best to minimize any inconvenience.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available in front of the hotel. Please note that we are not responsible for any damage or loss to vehicles while parked.

When is my payment processed?

Your reservation must be guaranteed with a major credit card, and the charge will be processed 14 days before your arrival.

Is smoking allowed on the property?

No, The Scout is a non-smoking property, which includes vaping and e-cigarettes. Guests who do not comply may face penalties and additional charges for damages.

Cancellation Policy

What is your cancellation policy?

We are a small property, and not being able to rebook reservations has a significant impact on us compared to larger and corporate venues. As a result, we need to be a bit strict with our cancellation policy, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any concerns about your plans, we encourage you to take advantage of the travel protection we offer.

  • Cancellations made up to two weeks prior to arrival will not incur any charges.

  • Cancellations within two weeks of arrival are non-refundable.

  • Please note that rates and policies are subject to change and may vary during high-impact periods or for special requests.

Pet Policy

Are pets allowed?

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed on-site.

What about service animals?

ADA service animals are always welcome at no additional charge.

Can I bring an emotional support dog?

Yes, we allow emotional support dogs for a fee of $35, or $70 if brought without prior notice.

Can my service animal sleep in the bed?

We kindly request that service animals not sleep in the bed to prevent stains and excess pet hair

Policies and Guest Responsibilities

Is The Scout responsible for lost or stolen items?

We are not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to your belongings while on the property.

What happens if I damage hotel property?

Guests are responsible for any damage or loss caused to the property by themselves, their guests, or anyone under their care. Please avoid taking any items from the cottage (pillows, blankets, towels, etc.), though you’re welcome to keep the slippers!

Will my room be cleaned during my stay?

For stays of 4 days or longer, a cleaning service is provided every 3 days. Please ensure personal items are stored away so we can properly sanitize all surfaces.

Can I bring bicycles or outdoor equipment into my cottage?

No, bicycles and large outdoor equipment are not allowed inside the cottages.

Do rates or policies change during peak periods?

Yes, rates and policies may vary during high-demand times or for special requests.
