why THE SCOUT?
We get asked about the name a lot. And like all good things, it’s got layers—some rooted in local lore, some born from beloved landscapes, and all tied to this place we adore.
There’s Scout Lake, our go-to summer swimming hole just outside of town, filled with memories of sun-drenched afternoons. Then there’s the Old Scout, the first car to brave McKenzie Pass, a nod to this community’s sense of adventure. But perhaps most importantly, our name reflects our core mission: to help you scout out your ideal retreat to Sisters.
We’ve done the legwork, scouted out the jaw-dropping trails, the secret lakes, the best slice of pizza in town. So whether you’re here to explore, recharge, or just see where the day takes you, consider this us a jumping-off point.
